Long Bien dry port has just been put into operation, how big is the capacity?

Hateco Logistics Joint Stock Company has just completed the procedures, officially put the Long Bien Inland Port (ICD) into operation, becoming the arm extending the system of seaports, airports and road border gates from North to South.

According to the announced decision, ICD Long Bien is located at 1 Huynh Tan Phat Street, Sai Dong B Industrial Park (Thach Ban Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi) invested by Hateco Logistics Joint Stock Company. The operation period of ICD Long Bien is until 2025 or until Co Bi and Phu Dong inland ports are completed and put into operation.

ICD Long Bien is considered to have a convenient location when it is about 100km from Hai Phong port, 122km from Lach Huyen port, 26km from Noi Bai international airport, 126km from the Chinese border,... This inland port was built on the area. area of 120,000m2, exploitation capacity of 135,000 TEUs, fully integrated functions: cargo clearance, domestic and international freight forwarding, destination port forwarding, storage and distribution of containers, storage , refrigerated container storage,...

On May 25, 2020, ICD Long Bien was recognized by the Ministry of Finance with Decision No. 769/QD-BTC as a customs clearance place at the import and export ports established in the country.

Previously, in the document approving the policy of adding Long Bien ICD to the detailed planning for development of Vietnam's inland port system until 2020, with a vision to 2030, the Ministry of Transport said, in Decision No. 2072/2018 The Prime Minister's approval of the master plan of Vietnam's inland port system, the Southeast economic region of Hanoi is planned to 2020 with a cargo throughput capacity of 350,000 - 900,000 Teus/year, with an area of 800,000 TEUs/year. - 90ha, by 2030, the cargo handling capacity will be from 1.1 to 2 million Teus/year, the area will be from 120 - 150ha.

According to Decision No. 1201/2018 of the Ministry of Transport approving the detailed planning of Vietnam's inland port system for the period up to 2020, with a vision to 2030, the Southeast economic region of Hanoi has the role of serving the goods of Vietnam. the provinces/cities: Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan with the capacity through the period 2020 - 2025 about 522,800 - 874,500 Teus/year; By 2030, the total throughput capacity will be from nearly 1.62 million to more than 2 million Teus/year, including Co Bi ICD and Phu Dong ICD.

However, at present, the Southeast economic area of Hanoi only has ICD Tan Cang Hai Phong and ICD Dinh Vu - Quang Binh operating with cargo throughput capacity of 71,400 - 214,000 Teus/year and 71,400, respectively. - 142,000 Teus/year.

Co Bi Inland Port is still in the process of site clearance and finalizing design documents for floating items. Phu Dong dry port is at the stage of planning research and still has to handle and remove difficulties related to flood prevention and control planning. It will be completed and put into use at the earliest.

Therefore, in order to meet the demand through regional cargo, the Ministry of Transport has approved the policy of adding Long Bien ICD to the detailed planning for development of Vietnam's inland port system in the period to 2020, with orientation to 2030. .

Up to the present time, Vietnam has 9 inland ports and 16 cargo clearance points (functioning as inland ports). In which, the Northern region has 8 ICDs, 7 domestic clearance points, including: Phuc Loc - Ninh Binh ICD; ICD Km3+4 Mong Cai, Quang Ninh; ICD Hai Linh, Phu Tho; ICD Tan Cang Hai Phong; ICD Dinh Vu - Quang Binh, Hai Phong; ICD Hoang Thanh, Hanoi, ICD Tan Cang Ha Nam and ICD Long Bien. The southern region has 1 ICD and 9 domestic clearance points. Central region has no ICD yet.
