FECON won the bid for Hateco Group's International Container Port Project

FECON Joint Stock Clarge-diametert announced that it won a new bid package worth 380 billion VND, belonging to the construction investment project of 2 container terminals No. 5, No. 6 Lach Huyen Wharf area, belongs to Hai Phong seaport.

With this new package, FECON will be the main contractor for constructing the item "Cement Deep Mixing Method - CDM" at the project. Progress made within 315 days.

The investment project to build 2 container terminals No. 5, and No. 6 Lach Huyen Wharf area of Hai Phong seaport, invested by Hateco Group, has a length of 2 container terminals of 900m (450m each), accepting container ships up to 18,000 TEUs.

The project was approved by the Prime Minister with a total investment of nearly 9,000 billion VND. It is expected that by 2024, the project will be put into operation and when it comes into operation, it will be considered the largest container seaport project in the North of Vietnam.

This is the first time FECON has proposed and applied RAS construction technology - The only significant diameter CDM pile construction technology in Vietnam, transferred from the Japanese partner RAITO KOGYO.

The outstanding advantage of this method is the use of a large-capacity motor, the construction of CDM piles with a maximum diameter of 2500mm, and the use of a 2-way mixing technique to create a more homogeneous and faster CDM pile than the technology traditional. This technology has been widely applied in most major seaport projects in Japan.

By proactively updating and using advanced and modern construction technology at the project, FECON has met the quality requirements, speeded up progress, saved time and optimized costs for the owner investment – a prerequisite for FECON to become the main contractor for the bidding package in this project.


 

Lach Huyen is the first deep-water seaport of the northern key economic region of Vietnam, the gateway connecting the northern region to the world.

Lach Huyen port plays a particularly important role in Vietnam's seaport system, which plays a role in meeting the increasing demand for sea freight transportation of provinces, cities, and key economic zones in the North, especially in the economic growth triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.

The completion of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway together with the Hanoi - Lao Cai, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen, Hanoi - Lang Son, and Bach Dang highways on the Hai Phong - Ha Long expressway, will form The North's modern and continuous traffic network shortens the travel time between the northern provinces to Dinh Vu Industrial Park (Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone) and the international port here.

This will be one of the key trade gateways connecting ASEAN and China.
